Our new home

Made Up Design have moved into the Dispensary, home to a large creative community in the heart of Bath.

The Dispensary is run by Radio, an established graphic design agency. They have created an amazing working environment over the years, and onsite facilities include a library, a bar and a cinema! It’s a truly incredible building that has to be seen to be believed.

This move means we have a wealth of creative talent on our doorstep and can offer our customers an even greater range of online and offline creative services.

Rich text replacement

All the page headers in this website use the sIFR text replacement technique - perfect for maintaining brand integrity in your website without sacrificing accessibility.

sIFR uses Flash to generate the text in your headers (or whichever tags you specify) in any font you choose. Previously web designers have been restricted in which fonts they can use, having to stick to ‘web safe’ fonts that are installed on the majority of users PCs.

New website

We’ve now updated our website and integrated all our content into the Wordpress CMS that we advocate for our clients.

We’ve added a few new features to the site - included these archives of our news stories and our ideas for your website. The design has remained familiar, but has been improved significanly with the addition of rich text for the page headers and the changing of the colour scheme in the main content area.

There are also more large images to give you a better idea of what we’ve been up to.

Indish redevelopment

We’ve been asked to develop an online shop for Indish. We designed the current site so we’re delighted to be taking the site to the next stage.

The new store will allow Indish to showcase a wider selection of their products on sale, and will allow them to pick and choose which items are for sale through the website.

Open source software

Using open source software you can get all the benefits of a massive development community without having to pay for the software licences.

Open source comes in many shapes and sizes - you can get open source scripts that process your contact form, or you can get fully functioning content management systems for running enterprise size systems.

Development is carried out by dedicated teams of programmers the world over, and as such there is an extensive support network available. And even if one of the application doesn’t have the feature you need out of the box, chances are someone out there has developed a handy extention that will do just what you’re after.
